The Inevitable Path Buddhist Retreat is a place to quiet the mind, open the heart & listen deeply. Unlike other normal retreats, this building is located on a very interesting site where the sign of impermanence can be clearly spotted. In only 50 years time, the building has already went through several distinct changes. From being accredited for the RIBA Gold Medal till being abandoned, going through arson attack & a graffiti canvas for young people. It is undeniable where the site has stories waiting to be unfold.

The abandoned St Peter's Seminary will serve its original purpose which is to house lectures, classes & accommodation for the Buddhist Retreat. On the other hand, right beside the burnt down footprint of the Kilmahew House, lies the meditation hall which will allow the user to experience a different way of meditation. The design intention was to create a vivid spatial sequence, by going through a long approach across the building. Buddhism's theory of achieving mindfulness, namely " Face it, Accept it, Solve it & Let go of it" is how the journey is being laid out.
