Layers of events form the image of Anaklia, the site is read as a palimpsest, similar to the land. Civil war, proposed promenade & Lazika, the arrival of the deep sea port. These events are read as conflict which fracture through the rural site. The entry of the infrastructure & logistics from the deep sea port will slowly marks its own territory across the land of Anaklia, & slowly erasing layers of history.

Proposing a library on an Oxbow site, confronting the act of history destruction during the civil war, on a site where the trace of the river gesture could still be observe.

Fracture as design gesture, the building’s design fractures above ground & emphasise on the Oxbow lake. Cutting through ground level, excavating below ground to reveal the land’s layering.

Assemblage as design gesture, the excavation debris are reused & emphasised as a way to collect & assemblage the memory of the land.
